SO ABOUT MYSTERY MAN ZERO...

Wow, it's been over a year since my last update. That isn't very good, is it?

Every so often, I'll get an email or message from someone asking me what's going on with Mystery Man Zero. I never saw myself using RPG Maker again, so it was really painful telling people that the game will probably never get finished. But sometime last week, it crossed my mind, and with RPG Maker 2003 finally having a legal version  released forever ago, I decided to give MMZ another go and actually finish it this time.

I bought the program a couple of days ago and spent most of my time with it re-importing my resources to the "new" project. One by one. If it sounds agonizing, let me tell you, it was.

I got all that done, so now all that's left is to copy the maps over from the old version to the new one. I thought I could copy one map and then all of the maps under that 'family' would be copied too, but noooooo, I have to copy each map individually. Fun, fun, fun.

But I shouldn't complain. Even after all these years, people still care about this game, so it really means a lot. My plan is to write out the plot by hand and then transfer it to the game. I've been pretty good with handwriting stories first, so I'm hoping this will motivate me to finally finish this. If the story is finished at least, I can chip away at the other stuff until everything is done.

I'm going to throw in so many secrets and optional content, as a way of thanking people for bugging me about this for so long.

Hang in there y'all. A full-game will be released in 2018 AT THE LATEST, so help me God.

VANITY: EXTENDED DEMO (Coming Now!)

Hello all! Vanity's demo that I promised you like 20 months ago? Well, it is here now! Sorry for the procrastination. Life + other duties got in the way, you know how that goes. ;)

Anyway, enjoys! Any comments, questions, rants, death threats, etc, can be placed right here on this blog OR emailed to me at: Eikichi@juno.com

I look forward to hearing from you!

- A Clyde

PS: Stuff about the new demo:

- It's twice as long (the original demo wasn't that long, don't worry)
- You get to actually choose your pathways
- Balance issues fixed
- Plot-holes/dialogue addressed
- I changed the way some of the pictures were presented to give them a slightly more...'unified' look, if you will.
- There is a 'chart' Book that you can access from your menu screen that will explain the strengths and weaknesses of each element (since the game doesn't use traditional elements like "fire, water...etc".
- A new title screen

And of course, the mainstays:
- Colored arrows to direct you to your next destination (in addition to hints)
- When backtracking you can skip battles - meaning you don't have to flee from the same enemies over and over

REMEMBER THIS GAME?!?!?!

If you do, maybe you will be happy to know that it is getting an updated demo. When, you ask? TODAY! What time today?

RIGHT. NOW.

The link is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?3w2xdpnkwaj6un2

The demo's a few hours or two longer, cleans up stuff wrong in the original demo, and has other surprises in stored. I hope you enjoy it! Honest feedback is of course encouraged!

VANITY: EXTENDED DEMO (coming soon)

If all goes well, this will more than likely be my next completed project...after years upon years of hiatuses.

I've been so focused on other things (and real life, ykwim?) that I've been doing much with my RM stuff, but I intend to work on this a little bit each day until I finish this!

Stuff you should know:

Some stuff about the new demo:
- It's twice as long (the original demo wasn't that long, don't worry)
- You get to actually choose your pathways
- Balance issues will be fixed
- Plot-holes/dialogue issues addressed
- I changed the way some of the pictures were presented to give them a slightly more...'unified' look, if you will.
- There will be a 'chart' that you can access from your menu screen that will explain the strengths and weaknesses of each element (since the game doesn't use traditional elements like "fire, water...etc".
- A new title screen

And of course, the mainstays:
- Colored arrows to direct you to your next destination (in addition to hints)
- When backtracking you can skip battles - meaning you won't have to free from the same enemies over and over

So that's all for now!

Never mind, I lied. Here's yet another title screen:

VIDEO GALORE!

Hey guys!

I was bored tonight and didn't have anything else to do, so I started uploading videos of Total Chaos (no, not Complete Chaos, but 'Total', from 2007). Eventually, I'm going to get around to recording every scene from the game (as well as optional scenes) and upload them on my youtube channel, that way you can watch the game if you don't feel like playing through it. =P

PS: I've come quite a long ways, haven't I? Haha.

Onyx 2 learns a lession in "giving less to provide more"!

For some reason, today I was playing through my old games (Onyx, Onyx 2 and Total Chaos). One of them made me cringe, I chuckled at some scenes from the other, and there was one I was pleasantly surprised by... and that one was Onyx 2. So I went back over the intro stage, touched it up a little...but the biggest thing I did for it was removing the facesets, which people have complained about since the day it was released (but I was too lazy to change anything).

So to summarize, Onyx 2 has a new download up, a version without the facesets. Sounds like a minor change, but considering what the facesets looked like (and how BIG they were)....some people may be quite happy with the change. I hope.

Here some screens showing off the change. A video or two may follow!

Anyway, for those who actually liked the facesets (all two of you =P), that download will remain as well.

Anyways, until next time...see ya!

PS: Complete Chaos's download count has reached 5000, and Total Chaos has reached 10,000. *plays Usher's OMG*

Complete Chaos is coming TO AN END

I finished test playing the remaining side quests, as well as the guide, so now all I have to do is finish the final dungeon, which I started working on last night.

I play to have everything done no later than NEXT WEEK, in which then I'll begin test playing, which shouldn't take too long.

If everything goes well Complete Chaos by should be released at the absolutely latest February 2010!

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

I Lied. Again.

Complete Chaos will not be coming out this month. You can thank school for that.

HOWEVER, I only have one more dungeon to do, so it will be here shortly. I won't say when, because when I give myself a "due date," I fuck up, and don't get it done. But just know that it will be here. And soon.

Mystery Man Zero will follow, with Vanity not too far behind.

Also, expect to see some gameplay videos of Complete Chaos in the new future!

I Lied

The full released version of Complete Chaos is still in the works, but it will not be coming out in mid-August like originally planned. HOWEVER, I only have three more dungeons to complete, and I expect to start working on one of them next week. Furthermore, the optional side quests are coming to an end. I have to finish the quest between the brothers and Fiona, as well as George's summon creatures side quests, but those shouldn't take too long.

Unfortunately, because of the game's size, the game and the guide book will be released separately.

In summary, expect this game to be released NO LATER THAN OCTOBER. If it isn't released by then, then I probably had killed myself.

[please don't take that last comment seriously]

NEW DEMO!

A short one, at least.

It's the first dungeon of a side project I'm doing, MYSTERY MAN ZERO, a dark comedy. Check it out the game's blog page for further info (and download link). The full game will probably be around 7 or 8 hours.

Thanks!

ERROR IN VANITY NOW FIXED!

Yup, there was an error in Azazel's Cult that prevented you from geting into the locked doors, even if you had the right passcode.

Hopefully it works now. VANITY'S blog page has the new links updated, so just re-download if you have to. You won't have to worry about starting your game over again, so you can keep the same save files.

VANITY COMING JUNE 20TH!!!

...The demo, at least.

I have only two days to testplay. The demo isn't terribly long, but still...I wish I had a week. lol

PS: I actually have a job now! It's where I'm typing this from. I just got in. Okay, time to work now so I can get the hell out. Later!
