Back from the dead (except not reallly)

 So... a few things.

1) Last year, I re-released my first ever RPG Maker game, Onyx. I call it a re-release and not a remake because I didn't necessarily remake anything, just cleaned/tighten up the maps a little, fleshed out some details/character details, but the skeleton of the game is more or less the same. In Onyx 2023, all the graphics actually match and the game has been re-balanced. Well, I guess Vernon is completely different. Haha

Check out some trailers I made for it.

2) I gave Vanity a similar treatment, earlier than Onyx actually. Once again, I made sure all the graphics matched, filled/expanded the story and setting A LOT more, and made general QOL improvements.

Now's the part where I post screenshots of the new and improved Vanity. Well how about a video instead?

And that's it. I'm never touching RPG Maker again. But I wouldn't say I'm out of game development. What am I talking about?

MADAM (or SIR), IF I MAY...! (in my Freddy Kruger voice)

Over the last 6 months, I've been writing the script to an indie RPG I desire to develop. I'm not done with the first draft yet, so I'm hesitant to share too much, but it may or may not be inspired by a past project...

Here are some details:

1) Genre: Cyberpunk fantasy, Shin Megami Tensei (2) meets X-Men

2) Setting: Above the clouds of Venus. Science says human beings could live there? With some adjustments, of course.

3) Visuals: I'm thinking PS1-era RPGs? First person navigation, and 3rd person event scenes. IDK, I haven't figured it out yet. But I have time.

I probably won't post on this blog ever again, but when it's time, I will make an official website for this project.

SO ABOUT MYSTERY MAN ZERO...

Wow, it's been over a year since my last update. That isn't very good, is it?

Every so often, I'll get an email or message from someone asking me what's going on with Mystery Man Zero. I never saw myself using RPG Maker again, so it was really painful telling people that the game will probably never get finished. But sometime last week, it crossed my mind, and with RPG Maker 2003 finally having a legal version  released forever ago, I decided to give MMZ another go and actually finish it this time.

I bought the program a couple of days ago and spent most of my time with it re-importing my resources to the "new" project. One by one. If it sounds agonizing, let me tell you, it was.

I got all that done, so now all that's left is to copy the maps over from the old version to the new one. I thought I could copy one map and then all of the maps under that 'family' would be copied too, but noooooo, I have to copy each map individually. Fun, fun, fun.

But I shouldn't complain. Even after all these years, people still care about this game, so it really means a lot. My plan is to write out the plot by hand and then transfer it to the game. I've been pretty good with handwriting stories first, so I'm hoping this will motivate me to finally finish this. If the story is finished at least, I can chip away at the other stuff until everything is done.

I'm going to throw in so many secrets and optional content, as a way of thanking people for bugging me about this for so long.

Hang in there y'all. A full-game will be released in 2018 AT THE LATEST, so help me God.

NEW NIGHTMARE DOWNLOAD!

Why does this always happen to me? So annoying. Anyway, in the old download, Buffy was supposed to equip Crossbows and while she could, the weapon would never level up. That's been fixed now, so if you want, here's a new download if you really wanted to equip her with a crossbow.

New Download

ETA 1/16/16

There was an issue with Matt's equipment, too. So yet another download has been added. Also, there was an annoying error that happened when you tried to scan an enemy after one's been killed. Hopefully that's also been fixed.

Luckily, you don't have to start over. Still, sorry for the inconveniences!

DEMO ALERT! DEMO ALERT! DEMO ALERT!

Basic facts:

It is called GATEKEEPER

It is an RPG

It is a 20 minutes long [this is just a tech demo, mind you!]

It will be a short, side project. Basically a simplified version of what ANISC will be.

Until the next update (hopefully soon), feast your eyes on THIS video and if it tickles your fancy, download the demo!

I will upload Gatekeeper's game page sometime soon, I hope.

Complete Chaos is coming TO AN END

I finished test playing the remaining side quests, as well as the guide, so now all I have to do is finish the final dungeon, which I started working on last night.

I play to have everything done no later than NEXT WEEK, in which then I'll begin test playing, which shouldn't take too long.

If everything goes well Complete Chaos by should be released at the absolutely latest February 2010!

I Lied. Again.

Complete Chaos will not be coming out this month. You can thank school for that.

HOWEVER, I only have one more dungeon to do, so it will be here shortly. I won't say when, because when I give myself a "due date," I fuck up, and don't get it done. But just know that it will be here. And soon.

Mystery Man Zero will follow, with Vanity not too far behind.

Also, expect to see some gameplay videos of Complete Chaos in the new future!

I Lied

The full released version of Complete Chaos is still in the works, but it will not be coming out in mid-August like originally planned. HOWEVER, I only have three more dungeons to complete, and I expect to start working on one of them next week. Furthermore, the optional side quests are coming to an end. I have to finish the quest between the brothers and Fiona, as well as George's summon creatures side quests, but those shouldn't take too long.

Unfortunately, because of the game's size, the game and the guide book will be released separately.

In summary, expect this game to be released NO LATER THAN OCTOBER. If it isn't released by then, then I probably had killed myself.

[please don't take that last comment seriously]

CLOSED SHUT...

...Has finally been completed! It's uploaded in the Screenplays section, and now that all of the scripts have been revised, I'm going to re-do the section a little bit, adding a brief summary of each script...which is what I should've done in the first place. - Adrian Clyde -

A SLIGHT DETOUR...

Okay, so a few weeks ago, I got some surprise reads from my script GOBLIN. Comments were...unfavorable, to say the least. They weren't bad, well they were, but nothing like "OMG it SUCKS! You have no talent!" or whatever. Someone was like they couldn't believe the dialouge or the characters or whatever (then the next review I got said they didn't mind the dialouge, but that's neither here or there... ;p ). So anyway, needless to say, I immediately started looking over GOBLIN, and the negative comments I got made so much sense. So I just finished it about an hour ago and I plan to re-submit it. I probably won't get another comment for like 2 years or so, but we'll see...

But good news! I'm starting CLOSED SHUT tomorrow! I honestly can't wait. It's honestly one of my writing pieces of writing ever. It's not my best, but I love the characters (Erin Douglass & Lucia Henry <3), I love the setting, and it's just awesome to me.

Now, with that said, it's been a little over a year since I've even looked at it, so I'm a little scared...but after I take my time trimming out all the fat (Bye-bye Darry & Benny!), I think I could have something incredible on my hands (or at least that's what I've been told).

I'm also thinking about making Joey Henry, Lucia's 19-year old younger brother, a little older...to possibly start a fling between he and Erin. Since Benny's going to be written out (with his storyline being carried over to Anthony "Tony" Maxwell instead), Erin's going to need a new "love interest"...not that she and Benny ever had anything to begin with, just innocent flirting, which would be weird if a teenage Joey tried to flirt with a woman of Erin's age, class and beauty.

That said, Benny and Darry aren't going written out of the story completely...they'll just downgraded to be point where they're practically talking extras. They're gonna be around until the big scene in which the Museum reveals itself evil ugly self, and then they'll get hacked along with a bunch of other nonentities.

One last thing...let's talk about VANITY! It's a new RPG I'm making, but not to worry, for it will not slow down Complete Chaos's progress rate at all. Basically, aside from my screenplays, EVERYTHING is moving ever so slowly (don't even get me started on FORBIDDEN), but now that GOBLIN's been completed, I'll have time to work on some of the other stuff.

Here's some Vanity screens for you. I plan to make a separate page for it pretty soon.

PS: I have a job interview this Saturday. Wish me luck!
The Chelsia in Vanity is named after the bitch that was on Big Brother. Yay for originality!
